Alan Boucher

Director, Health Care Architecture

Alan is a 19-year Intel veteran and the Director for Health Care Architecture within Intel’s newest division – the Digital Health Group. This division – formed in January of 2005 - is focused on the delivery of products, technologies & platforms for the Health Care IT, National Health Care Standards, Policies and Clinical Information Systems, Personal Health and Biotech / Pharma segments.

Alan manages a strategic platform & solution architecture team, which is driving new usage models, platforms and technologies into the Health Care industry worldwide. These technologies include Clinical Information Systems integration, Health Information Technology delivery platforms, Mobility solutions, RFID and Sensor-Net architectures, chronic patient home care, decision-support and outcome-based medicine architectures.

In addition, his teams are heavily involved in co-defining architectures which promote medical data interoperability through informatics and application integrations, in an effort to increase medical delivery efficiencies, improve patient lives & outcomes and to improve overall process workflows & safety measures in Health Care.

Alan joined Intel in 1987 and has worked in a number of technical marketing, product development, network engineering, software development and enterprise architecture definition roles. He has a degree in Computer Science (SW Design), and holds numerous certifications in networking configuration, hardware design and software development (Intel, Novell and Microsoft). Alan is also a two-time Intel Achievement Award (iAA) winner (fellowship award 2002 & 2005).
