Windows Server 2008 (“Longhorn”) hands-on Lab
Experience Windows Server 2008 Server Core, Read-Only Domain Controller (RODC) and the server management of Windows Server 2008

Lab 1- Introduction to Windows Server 2008 Core : |
| |
Session Speaker: Golden Liu
Session Time: 13:00-14:30
For many businesses, maintaining remote locations generates significant operational costs and administrative challenges. Although businesses are well aware of these issues, they are often constrained by one simple prerequisite distributed networks. Ultimately, the inherent limitations of distributed network architectures ”WAN”have an undesirable effect on the efficient operation of branch offices. This scenario focuses on the security, management, and communication improvements that will mitigate these issues for branch offices where Windows Server 2008 is deployed. The clinic is comprised of three lessons and a lab covering the following topics: 1) Branch Office Server Deployment and Administration 2) Read-Only Domain Controller (RODC) 3) Branch Office Physical Security Approximately one-half of the total three-hour clinic is devoted to lecture/discussion, and half is devoted to the lab exercises.

Session Speaker: Golden Liu
Session Time: 14:40-16:10
You are responsible in your organization for the installation and configuration of Windows Server 2008. You are required to install and configure each Windows Server 2008 server to provide a variety of roles (such as Print and DHCP) and features (such as Windows Server Backup) without the creation of special tools or scripts. You need to have the ability to quickly inspect the configuration of your servers, and when troubleshooting a service failure, take appropriate corrective actions without the creation of special tools or scripts.
*Windows Server 2008 hands-on lab will be delivered in Chinese.
